Hello this is Brandon with another Mix Minute, and today we’re going to create contrast and movement using reverb.

When this chorus leads to the outro, the strings become too prominent. We need to change the mood.

We can achieve this by automating a room reverb. By rolling off the bottom end, the strings will feel farther away in the room. And by fading from the dry signal to the wet, we can change the mood of the strings and create contrast and movement.

This technique demonstrated on EJ Rios’s “Echo” (Featuring Analise Rios). Get a copy of these multitracks free from the cambridge educational multitrack archive. http://cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/#EJRios
