Hello, it’s Brandon with another Mix minute, and today we’re going to use MDynamicEQ to rescue a vocal that was de-essed too hard during production.
The S’s in this vocal sound unnatural, and the top end disappears when there would have been sibilance. This effect was printed to the track, and needs rescued.
Using a high shelf, we can lift up the frequencies that were attenuated by the deesser while still holding down the sibilant frequency that should have been targeted. Our vocal is now usable again!
